Wind represents change, and the consecration of wind elevates that transformation to a spiritual level. Many of my poems reflect a desire to change, to leave parts of myself behind, to become someone else.
That denial of self had its origins in childhood, thanks in great part to my father who created an atmosphere of emotional and financial instability.
The pattern continued after my mother died suddenly of a massive heart attack. At the age of 24, I was motherless, and in many ways, I had been fatherless my entire life.
My transformation began when my adorable niece Michelle was born; it continued through my love of teaching and coaching; and it peaked when I experienced the purest form of love from my husband Bud.
I don’t think any of us can completely escape or deny the child within us, but we continue to change and hopefully evolve into the best possible version of ourselves.
iam thoroughly enjoying this book. while much of it is extremely deep, this author captures the truth about herself and her surroundings. it speaks from the child to adult with amazing excerpts from her hometown.
